2026 Fellowship Call for Applications
Thank you for your interest in becoming a DSECOP fellow. As a graduate or postdoctoral fellow, you will join a collaborative community working to integrate AI/ML into physics curriculum. This call specifically focuses on incorporating large language models into undergraduate physics courses.
Fellowship Scope
Selected PhD students and postdocs will:
- Develop instructional modules integrating LLMs into physics education
- Partner with faculty to deploy these modules in specific courses
- Create comprehensive materials including code notebooks, lesson plans, and assessment questions
- Develop a second module or advise on deploying existing modules in subsequent phases
Each module will typically span multiple class sessions and address specific curricular objectives.
Responsibilities
Fellows are expected to:
- Demonstrate developed modules to local physics departments
- Participate in a virtual workshop
- Attend regular virtual meetings with other fellows
- Travel may be required for in-person workshops or demonstrations (all travel costs will be covered)
- Collaborate with your graduate/postdoc advisor to identify relevant topics and deployment opportunities
Commitment & Compensation
- Time commitment: Approximately 5 hours per week
- Stipend: $5,000 per calendar year
- Travel expenses: Fully covered when required
